HEALTHY MEALS FOR HEALTHY MINDS

 

 

We have a four week rotating menu with different meals provided each day to give the children variety of tastes and textures.  All meals meet the dietary guidelines and needs of the children with the majority of the ingredients used in the meals being healthy whole food. Our younger children are also offered steamed or mashed vegetables alongside their lunches.

 

To give our children the best nutritional start to life Benowa Children’s Centres follows the principles of Clean Eating when developing menus and preparing meals.  Clean Eating is a theory of nutrition which promotes the idea of being more mindful of your food’s pathway between its origin and your plate.  At its simplest Clean Eating is about eating whole foods which are subject to a minimum of processing, refining and handling, making them as close to their natural form as possible.

 

To this end, menu planning at Benowa Children’s Centres will continue to focus on a diet consisting largely of plant-based foods, that is, fruits and vegetables, as well as healthy breads and cereals which are 100% whole grain wherever possible.
